ART now now ! :: Fine Art by Rainer Leimeroth

Rainer has an affinity with visual story telling through drawing, painting and sculpture. It started in his childhood and has been shaped and strongly influenced by his long stay in Central and Southern Africa.

He took his first artistic steps in childhood, falling in love with aquarelle depiction of animals and nature, soon experimenting with oil colour on old bed linen instead of canvas. Several editions of prints with a series of his drawings were a first highlight on his early artistic path at the age of 13.

Since then, over the years, he experimented with different materials such as styrofoam and clay however never lost touch with his main form of artistic expression: painting in oil, gouache and pencil drawing.

During the late 80s and 90s Rainer worked as an illustrator for a series of companies and has also done commission art work.

His film studies in South Africa have stimulated and developed his sense of storytelling and have been an enriching experience for his creative expression, triggering the development of an art style that features a mélange of storyboard elements, comic and classic impressionist fine art, as shown here.
